Varencub (Rocnaian: varekub varencub [vəˈɾɛnkʊv]), officially the Varencuvite Republic, is a country located in northern Ystel. Lying landlocked in the XX Valley, it is bordered by Rocnaia to the east, Thraquy to the north, Ancorub to the east, and Hranloc and Saant to the south. According to the 2018 Tullach census, Varencub has a population of 79,000, with Cxigmba serving as both the capital and largest city.
Varencub formed part of the Tullach Chieftaincies until its sudden political collapse, when the Varencuvite Regional Council, with the political support of Rocnaia's own regional council and the Tullachian government, passed a law on 6th March 2024 absolving itself from the nation. It has since then become one of the youngest members of the International Congress, and was quickly admitted to the Ystelian Community and the Asuran Economic International Oceanic Union on 1st April 2024.
The area today making up Varencub's territory was inhabited by various Ystelian nomadic peoples. Permanent settlements did not arise until the XXth century, with road connections between Volinsco and the outpost town of Ancorub serving well for residents of the area. Varencub became a province of the Kingdom of Rocnaia in XX, and was subsequently absored into the Tullach Chieftancies in XX.
Currently, Varnecub sees its entire territory claimed by Rocnaia, however these claims have received extremely little international recognition and the Varencuvite government maintains executive jurisdiction over its land.
