Phonotactics

The basic syllable structure of Vosan is (S)(C)(v/f)(j)V(S)(C); C denotes any consonant, V denotes any vowel, and S denotes any sibilant, although this is usually /s/ and /ʃ/. /v/ or /f/ may appear between correspondingly voiced or voiceless onset plosives, barring /p/ and /b/, and the nucleus of a syllable. All consonant clusters are limited to three consonants in hiatus, and follow a hierarchy, with more sonorant consonants appearing first in the cluster, and the more occlusive consonants coming after. However, exceptions do occur, with the aforementioned /v/ and /f/ clustering and in loan words.

Orthography

Vosan is written using the Vos Alphabet, a modified variant of the Vaniuan script that uses different pronunciation and additional letters not found in other Vaniuan languages.

Additions

The Vos Alphabet adds seven letters to the Vaniuan script, five of which are completely unique to the language.
