Lower Stratavar (Stratavite: srǎtawr t∙hǐskr [ʐɻæˈtavɐ təˈxɨskɐ]), officially the Kingdom of Lower Stratavar, is a landlocked country located in northern Ystel. It is bordered by Stratavar to the north, Tullachia to the east and Saant to the west, and is situated almost entirely within the northern Renian mountain range. Lower Stratavar has about 125,600 inhabitants. Its capital is Ǎkr whilst its largest city is Haw t∙Gǐjd.

Lower Stratavar gained its independence from the Kingdom of Gabolonia and Stratavar during the Tetrification Period, however remains the only nation of the four to have maintained their sovereignty, with Stratavar, Upper Stratavar and Gabolonia having been absorbed into the Tullach Chieftaincies.

Culture

Languages

The only official language in Lower Stratavar is Stratavite, native to 93% of the population.

The country currently takes an adverse stance against the public use of Tullach upon the arrival of many Tullachian migrants: despite it being taught in schools as a popular second language, King Ǧetr Zikadr has made it clear that he intends for all public affairs to be conducted in the national language and for all immigrants to successfully assimilate themselves into Lower Stratavite culture, with language playing a key part of the national integration program (Stratavite: raězamswør t∙srǎtawr t∙hǐskr, lit: 'Lower Stratavar Rebirth Program'). Nonetheless, Tullach is still occasionally used publicly throughout Tullach ghetto and the few small tourist regions of Lower Stratavar's capital, Ǎkr.

National flag

The national flag of Lower Stratavar, adopted in 1994

The current flag of Tullachia was adopted in March 1994. It is a yellow and purple tricolour, with three yellow eight-pointed stars superimposed off-centre on the purple stripe. Centre around these stars is a red line depiction of a face, often considered to be an image of a local pre-Aroist deity.

Eight-pointed stars are representative of the Aroist faith; the presence of three is in relation to the three Stratavars.

With the rapid growth of independence movements across northern Ystel, several separatist groups adopted flags of the similar design, such as Stratavar and the unrecognised state of Southern Hranlocca, in homage to Lower Stratavar's resistance against foreign occupation. The flag of the Republic of Hranloc also shares similarities in this regard.

The flag's colours are specified and codified under the 1994 Flag Act, which saw the design first be officially encoded into Lower Stratavar's national identity. The official colours, their digital approximations and their symbolism are listed below:

  •   Yellow represents wealth and prosperity.
    #FBDD08
  •   Purple represents peace and beauty.
    #98305E
  •   Red represents strength and independence.
    #E30824
