Margaya (Kalayesh: Fo Maighuya [ɸo mɐɪ̯ʁujɐ]), officially the The United Kingdoms of the Zheusu and Gayu Rivers, is a landlocked country located in Parshita on the foothills of the Miralayan Mountain range, bordered to the north by Ö, to the west by Urzotia, and to the southwest by Potjayd. It contains almost 12 million people, making it the nth-most populated country in Parshita, spread over a total area of 227 thousand kilometers². The first resemblance of a country in Margaya came in the 900s upon the arrival of the Kaluati and the establishment of the city of Wöxai, which would be its capital for the next thousand years. From here, it would grow from a city-state to a polity of its own, getting to a territorial height in the 1100s encompassing a large part of the Miralayan foothills. Internal division and invasion by the Sunrise Horde in the next century would see Woxaya's downfall, and the area would be converted to a Mahavi-run horde, something that would last until the 15th century, where the kingdoms of Kalay and Laral would break free. The two entities would later on in 1921 unite to form the United Kingdoms of Margaya.
Etymology
The name Margaya comes from the Old Kalayesh term Fo Margaaya, meaning "place of bright sky," reflected in Kalayesh as Fo Maighuya and in Kavajagh as FoMargaya.
