The Grand Viceroyalty of Istan (known in Istani Norjihani as Ystahni Asodeirun /ys.tɑ.nɪ as.deɪ.run/) was a country, normally classified as either an Empire or by it's official title a Grand Viceroyalty, situated in Central Baredina, straddling both Quedrel and Ekuosia. It's territories included parts of the modern parts of Norjihan, Izovangia, Withei, Tabiqa and Kudzatia at various points in its 291 year long history (from 1304-1605). It was originally founded by Govegz Rona as a way to control trade in the Quedrel Region, but following the expansion of Nevira the territory was seceeded peacefully. When Nevira collapsed, the Viceroys quickly took the opportunity to exploit their wealth and expand across the region. Centered around the city of Dmezan (having started out in Myski), the Grand Viceroyalty frequently struggled with Asmal and internal rebellions, eventually collapsing from the middle of the 1500s onwards after a deafeat at (insert battle here). Eventually the Lordinals, the Mayors of Hajenired, inherited what was left of Istan (ie. western parts of Izovangia and the modern Norjihani region of Lílóme), and then after gaining the Norjihani crown the two countries were consolidated into the Kingdoms of Norjihan and Istan, eventually just the Kingdom of Norjihan, and the Izovangian territories were give up in (insert date and event here). However, the modern nation of Norjihan still claims the old Lordinal 'Kingdom of Istan'.
