Transport
Cars are banned in Manea due to the Contemporary Conception Party which governs the nation. Contemporary Conception values both the most efficient and effective land use and environmental protection, and since they believe that roadways are a waste of space and that motor vehicles are bad the environment, the result is the aforementioned ban. This works well for Manea because of its geography which allows for extensive use of boats as transportation. Public railways also exist for Maneans to cross islands in a shorter time span.
Energy
Because of Contemporary Conceptionist policies, clean, sustainable methods of energy production, like wind, solar, and hydroelectrical, are favored. Also favored, but not as much, is nuclear energy. Some use of fossil fuels does occur, primarily in private (rural) homes and for many boats.
