Ragya (Qonklese: Râwja [rawja], Yachi: Rayə [ɺäjə])), was a country located in the southeastern regions of Yachi island. The traditional period used by historians dates the reign of the Ragya state to be from 62 CE to their fall in 301 CE. According to archaeological evidence, the western city states of the Xâw dynasty eventually evolved into the State of Ragya during the later half of the 1st century CE.
Etymology
The origin of the name 'Ragya' has been debated over the century. Variants include 'Taya' (Qonklese: 陀也), 'Raya' (Qonklese: 羅也), 'Raga' (Qonklese: 羅何), and 'Taga' (Qonklese: 陀何). Attempts to trace this name back to Proto-Yachiro has failed, leading linguists to believe that the name was of an unknown origin, perhaps from a language spoken before the arrival of the Ngerupic settlers.
