Etymology
Etymology
From Atruozan vüzë (“ten”) + deu (“two”) + -böj (construct state).  This, effectively "ten's two", was an older and now-antiquated method of saying "twelve" using an obsolete method for producing numbers additively.  Ultimately, it appears to originate from a standard contraction of the two, followed by non-standard vowel harmonisation to the first syllable.
