Sedhishum'a (pronunciation: /sɛðiʃumʔa/, Osuri /sèðíʃúʘ̃ɐ̀/, Adzamasi /sɛðɪʃoma/) is a major city in Tabiqa and the capital of the Osuri province. Historically it served as the seat of the short-lived Osuri Empire.
Etymology
The name comes from the Osuri for "rain pasture," referring to the fertile grassland in the valley, a known long-time destination for desert nomads.
