Government
The modern Selgvodian government has been around since the beginning of the Selgvodish Peace of Religion Treaty. The Urkazi tribe was ruled by Alvon Urkazi and expanded around the north until westerners took over the land. The Urkazis believed Nhãngpüü religion and originally spoke the holy language Hevrati language, but non religious urkazians developed a new language, which would later be known as Proto-Urkazi. This non-religious group were the Selgvodians. They elected a ruler and occupied the Urkazi region. Hundreds of years later, the Nhãngpüü religion branched off and broke apart the Hevrats and Urkazians. Another non-religious group broke off from the Urkazians. They were known as the Kjulnids. The Hevrats, Urkazians, Kjulnids, and Selgvodish rulers came together in 158AD to unite the nation together and have a monarchy with a ruler per region of Selgvod. Though Selgvod was known as Urkaz at the time, the government renamed the country after the most popular region and beliefs in the year 1829.

Religion
Ęfílnağ /əfiːlnaɣ/ is the main religion in selgvod. They worship the values of nature. Llamas are the gift of the Sun king to develop civilization. The Hevrati region is an ancient religion called Nhãngpüü /ɲãŋ˥pɨː˥/ or Sun king. Ęfílnağ is a branch of Nhãngpüü. Nhãngpüü requires that the followers must speak the language of the Sun king, which is Hevrati (Heqãqgéy /hɛǃãǃ͡ɢej̰/). Some Nhãngpüü families believe and practice incest due to the presence of incest in their holy scriptures, also called Nhãngpüü. Nhãngpüü is one of the oldest religions in Sahar, with the early mention of the religion being found in a document dating back to 3000BC.
