The Lidder Complex is a group of buildings located in the downtown area of Deglis, located between the 8th street and the 9th street. The original buildings were built during the 1930s under the commission if the Men-Lidder family.

The complex consists of around 15 skyscrapers and several other buildings, including an opera house, the Lidder Opera, they are widely considered as one of the landmarks of Deglis. The most important of the skyscrapers is the Lidder Centre, it was once used as the headquaarter of the certain companies descended from National Coal and Oil Corporation, spaces in other buildings in the complex were rent out to other corporations and individuals as offices, and few buildings were used as a shopping centre and stores.

The skyscrapers, including the Lidder Centre, feature an Art Deco style and were built with mostly granites and concretes.

Construction

The construction of the Lidder Complex in Deglis started in 1930 and was conceived as an urban renewal project in the late 1920s, spearheaded by Otzir Men-Lidder to help revitalize the downtown area of Deglis. Parts of the area were owned by the University of Deglis but had been left deserted for nearly a century before the construction of the Lidder Complex. The Men-Lidder family eventually became involved in the project and leased the University of Deglis site in 1929.

The architectural firms involved for the design of the buildings include MenMagoz, Tathran, Ebith & Gadim, and Madvan for the opera house. All structures in the original complex were designed in the Art Deco architectural style. Excavation of the site started in the Month of Veder in 1932, and construction began on the Month of Bod of the same year on the first buildings. The first edifice was opened in the Month of Hem in 1933, and most parts of the complex were completed by 1936.
