The Maakpauean languages are a small group of related languages spoken in Mahavia which are unrelated to East Mirarian languages. The most widely-spoken language is the Achiyitqan language, a dialect continuum of which the standardized form is the official language in Achiyitqana. Other extant daughters include Patapewan and Kichiyiquen.
The family is typified by polysynthetic, nominative-accusative languages that feature nominal animacy classes.
