Every election cycle their are two elections: the national and internal election. The national election is the process by which all eligible citizens vote for representation in the Kajeth whereas the internal election in held in the House of Status to determine the Chancellor of the House, the second highest position in the Alotol government, and leaders of various committees and the regional governments. This latter election is held a month after the national election, after new members of the Kajeth have been inaugurated. Typically the Ministry chooses which candidate would help them the most, or goes by the recommendation of the Prime Minister elect. Some have argued that this election is more important than the national one because the Chancellor of the House leads debates and calls bills to a vote in the lower house.
