Tolzadirw
Tolzadirw,[a] officially the United Houses of Tolzadirw,[b] is a country in Soltenna. It is bordered by Naea and Yiria to the north, Shavakhotia to the east, the Gulf of Sharkunen to the south, Lugida to the southwest, and Kadya to the west. Tolzadirw has an area of around 260 thousand square kilometers[c] and an estimated population of around 5,8 million people,[d] giving it a population density of about 23 people per square kilometer. The country has two separate administrative structures, with the structure of the nobility being largely titular after the de-feudalization of the mid-20th century. The civilian administration (formerly called "Lower Administration") consists of 9 regions, 51 provinces and 3 autonomous provinces.
The region was the cradle of the Yerlan civilization starting from the 1st millenium BCE. The Yerlan civilization depended on the cultivation of wheat in the fertile Yerlan valley between the Greater Rietic Mountains and the Lesser Rietic Mountains to its north, and also on fishing in the thin strip of land between the Greater Rietic Mountains and the Gulf of Sharkunen. The Yerlan civilization was rendered extinct by the Rietic migrations and strong competition from the ancient maritime empires of the Gulf of Sharkunen, albeit its influence on the culture of the subsequent Rietic settlers was substantial and contributed to the development of the ethnicity_name ethnic identity. The Medieval period of Tolzadirw is poorly recorded. A feudal system emerged during this time period, centered around manors and petty kingdoms. The traditional date of establishment of the state of Tolzadirw is 1603, with the union of the kingdoms of petty_kingdom_1 and petty_kingdom_2, although it wasn't until the Industrial Revolution that the modern borders of Tolzadirw were more or less established. Tolzadirw remained neutral during the Pangyeoun War, but was diplomatically closer to the Allies. It officially joined the conflict in January 1950. Tolzadirw joined the Gulf Treaty Organization in 1956, six years after it was established.
Today, Tolzadirw is a member of the International Congress and the Gulf Treaty Organization. It is a developed country with a range of personal and political freedoms, though it has been experiencing democratic backsliding since 1997. Tolzadirw's economy revolves around the service sector, with agriculture remaining prevalent in rural areas. The country also has a sizeable industry, albeit still smaller than its neighbors' industries.
