It is the homeland of the Balak people, a Vaniuan ethnic group. Its capital is the city of Sácar, and according to the 2016 census the total population is 57,258,126.
Balakia is an observer state of the Soltennan Council.
Etymology
History
Great Horde
... During the Sunset Rebellion, most Balaki nobles rose up against the ruling X dynasty; the only two noble families not to partake in this event were the Sehárens and the Zókamás. The revolutionaries were quickly crushed by the Great Horde's army, and were replaced with loyal Amaian nobles in the aftermath of the conflict.
The Balaki Kingdoms
Aside from the Zókamá and Seháren dynasties, who ruled over the kingdoms of Zonduş and X respectively, the leadership of the Balaki kingdoms were of Amaian background, as the case had been since the end of the Sunset Rebellion.
Balaki Empire
By 1864 Kamát II of Zonduş had united the majority of the Balaki kingdoms under one crown; his only remaining opposition consisted of Çinduş to the south-west. However, conquering the weaker nation would prove to be more of a challenge than Kamát had previously anticipated, as Çinduş had formed a defensive alliance with Torosha to combat Zonduşi aggression.
... On November 10th 1866 Kamát proclaimed the founding of a united Balaki Empire. Following this he was awarded the title Balákpáşe, meaning "father of the Balaks," a title which he is still referred to as today.

Balakia has maintaned a strong alliance with Shohuan following the Balaki Civil War, and maintains at least cordial relationships with most of their neighbours, especially Komania.
Soltennan Council
Following the country's ascension to the Soltennan Council as an observer state, Balakia currently works to improve relations with other member states, particularly Qonklaks. ... Despite these efforts however, relations remain strained between Balakia and some member states, particularly Methinaqh, whose X activist group receives support from the country.
