Upper Stratavar (Stratavite: srAtavr t'top srǎtawr t∙top [ʐɻæˈtavɐ təˈhop]), officially the People's Aroist Stratavite Republic (PASR), is a landlocked country located in the Renian Mountains of northern Ystel. It is bordered by Tullachia to the north, Gabolonia to the east, and Stratavar to the south, who, with support from Rocnaia, administers a full claim over Upper Stratavar's territory.
With a total land area of 4,954 square kilometres (1,913), Upper Stratavar is the smallest nation in Ystel and smallest AEIOU member in terms of total land area, and the fourth-smallest in Sahar as a whole, behind Bosato, Fádalh and Yorubynbad. According to a 2018 regional census, Upper Stratavar has a population of about 64,420, making it the seventh least-populous state in Sahar, and the third least-populous in Ystel, behind Hranloc and Ancorub.
Upper Stratavar formed part of the Tullach Chieftaincies until its sudden political collapse in February 2024. The nation planned to declare independence from Tullachia with the hope of reunification with Stratavar, however absolved themselves of this union on March 21st 2024, deemed illegal by the Stratavite government in accordance with the paperwork previously signed between them. This dispute has not interrupted the nation's international relations, with Upper Stratavar being successfully admitted to the Ystelian Community and the Asuran Economic Internation Oceanic Union in May 2024, and maintaining observer state status in the International Congress.
