Jaxukuk (Jax: Yaksukuk /jɒksu:ku:k/), officially the Republic of Jaxukuk, is a Western Alpic country located in the Jaxukuk Sea, between mainland Alpa and Atsiq. Jaxukuk has a population of approximately 350,000 and an area of 195,000 km2 (75,000 sq mi), placing it among the most sparsely populated countries on Sahar. The capital and largest city is Karakashin. The flat, drier areas around Karakashin and in the island's south-east are home to over half the country's population. Jaxukuk is home to majority of Sahar's Jax people of both human and Dalar species.

The territory which today comprises Jaxukuk has historically been an important place for migration as a stopping point between Atsiq and Alpa. The island was first inhabited by Dalar migrating from Miraria, and then much later by humans, also from Miraria. Because of this, many ancient cultures were located in Jaxukuk (SUCH AS...?). In modern times, the area has been ruled by many different powers, including Olboros Terminia, which introduced Pashaism in the 1770s (LEFT IN MID-1800S), and the United States of Atsiq, before gaining independence in the Pashaist Revolution of 1993. For a brief period, the country was under the control of an authoritarian Pashaist theocracy, until the peaceful revolution of 1998 which culminated in the overthrow of Supreme Leader STEPHENO HAWKINGOV and the introduction of parliamentary elections. A new constitution was adopted that allowed the religious instruments of government to be kept in check.
