The San Mngup people is a subbranch of the Ebo Nganagam Hux Kham people, unlike most Hux Kham people living in Ebo Nganagam, they are descendants of liberated slaves of the Q'eb Empire, and most of them are originally enslaved Ya Amo people sold to Baredina, they joined the local communities of the Hux Kham people after being freed by the Meritocratic Republic of Myak Kham and is identified as a part of them.
