Cuama (Riyan: //, Kwang: 叁焉 Khwà Mha /kʰwà m̥á/) is the capital and largest city of Riyana, located near the estuary of the Cuama River.

Etymology

The name Cuáma derives from Cuán Mrár ('group of the sea') which was the name given to the city by many people outside of it. It also had an ancient name Nievec (Riyan pronunciation: [nʲevek]), meaning 'god village', referring to the religious function the city was originally founded for.

History

Traditionally, Cuáma was founded in 2520 BCE as twenty tribes from the surrounded area that would become the cradle of the Qonklese civilization came together and formed the Kingdom of Wa.

This lasted until the fall of the Wa Dynasty in 888 BCE, when it was sacked by Forians, who would occupy it until the present day. Various Qonklese successor states started to form in the rest of the former Wa Kingdom.

Even though it had never been Qonklese after the fall of the Wa Dynasty, in the 1920s, Dain Pain was obsessed with retaking Cuáma for the Qonklese Empire, and in a sense of symbolic retaliation, committed large war crimes against Riayans there when they conquered the city during the Greak Ekuosian War.
