Melunebet (Lithian: Melon [ˈmelon]) is a city situated inland on the Mel River in the northern part of Lugida. Formerly the capital of the Kingdom of Melunair, the city is now the capital city of Melon Prefecture and home to around 3 million people.

Scientific consensus suggests the period as marking the founding of Melunebet as a permanent settlement, which was briefly dormant in the 3rd century BCE due to conquests by the Altha Dynasty. Much of Melunebet remained in tranquility for more than a millennia, from the decline of Avite Empire in (sometime) CE up until the Lugid Revolution in the 1860s, forming conditions suitable for the distinctive Melune culture.
