The Batanic calendar is a lunar calendar used solely in Liosol. Its point of origin is the founding of the Court of Batan, making the current year 778. The calendar was conceived by Moeyn Aten in 1843 in order to promote Alotol national unity. A year consists of five "seasons" with seventy-three days. A week in the Batanic calendar is only five days long. Each new year falls on February 12th, the birthday of the late King Meln Encagh.
