Qonklaks (Qonklese: Kweontiak /kwʌntjak/), officially the People's Republic of Qonklaks, is a country located in Soltenna, known for its rip-off products, excessive use of Special Administrative Regions, interventionalism, cheap labour forces, chili oil, and copyright issues. It borders North Qonklaks, Methinaqh, Edievia, Hux Kham, Zaizung, and Riyana.
Etymology
The name comes from the Qonklese word for "border", or "gate" kweon and the word for country tiak.
History
Qonklaks historically was a very war-mongering people. Having just achieved Bronze Age status 200 years prior, they’ve managed to vassalize neighbouring cultures within 20 years of their formation of the first Qonklese dynasty.
In 1772 BCE, the first evidence of a Qonklese organized military was found in modern day western Methinaqh. The army was used to fight on a crusade against the ancient Mettic Empire, which both cultures have been at odds for about 300 years now.
In the events of the Warring States Period, according to legend, the Qonklese people made first contact with a Xynden in 1204 BCE. This was potentially the first time Xynden “city tree” culture has spread from the Xynden islands.
During the next 1000 years, Qonklaks established first contact with their northern Qgamic neighbours, spreading their Qonklese Heokdzeu, a form of logographic writing, to them. making them the second literate civilization that has not been vassalized by Qonklaks in Soltenna.
58 CE, Letsatia conquers the Lugid dynasty of Altha in a colonial campaign. Qonklaks decides to launch an attack to defend themselves against the Letsatian threat. However, these attacks bled the National Treasury dry, and Qonklaks fractured into five warring states in a period known as the Five Kingdom Land Hoard.
1373 CE, with Qonklese homelands being threatened by an invading force (Sunrise Horde) yet again, royal scholars and engineers joint forces and constructed the Sunset Wall along the modern day border of Riyana and Hux Kham. During this time, Wy Euk, Emperor of the Ngwen Dynasty, introduced the Mahavic vertical script during the time of his reign, significantly improving literacy rates. The old logographic script because obsolete among the lower classes.
During the Republican Revolutions in 1903, Officials decided to reintroduce Qonklese Logograms into daily use. This was further reinforced by the fascist dictator Ci Dung, as he made learning Qonklese Logograms mandatory. After the downfall of the Republic, the Kuulist QonCom Party sought to remove the logograms completely, but they decided to keep it, as many have already fully converted to the script.

Sport
The most popular non-lethal sport in Qonklaks is definitely the Way of the Chopstick, or Kwajdzido. Players are armed with two electronic chopsticks with sensors at the end, typically about 10-13 inches long. To score a point, one must attempt to strike the opponent with the sensor end of the chopstick. The more lethal version of this sport is played every year in Qonklese New Year, where two volunteers battle to their deaths with steel pointed chopsticks. Before the match, the two volunteers swear a blood oath to prevent the loser's spirit to haunt the winner in the afterlife. The winner, if still conscious, will be paraded on top of a golden carriage around the city of Jikring. It is considered to be the most honourable thing to die in this competition.
