Liosol (Chanlosol: Ryoseulla), officially the The Kingdom of Liosol, is a country located in the region of Soltenna in Miraria. Originally an island nation South of Miraria, Liosol has grown into a major world power spanning from Lake Soltenna to the Gelög Sea.
Etymology
The name "Liosol" comes from the words "Lao Setole" which means "New Setole." There have also been claims that the name of "Soltenna" comes from a misheard form of the form "Setole." These claims are backed up by the existence of the massive Liosoglo Empire.
Prehistory
Ancient Era
Island Trading
Between 40,000 BCE to 37,000 BCE natives of the island Setole engaged in trading with the early people's of present-day Soltenna and [1]
Migration from Setole
While it is relatively unknown, most historians suggest the sinking of Setole happened sometime between the two major migrations to Soltenna with most settling on around 33,000~ BCE. At that time a great earthquake shook the island of Setole and surrounding areas, causing destruction all around. The famous poet [2] wrote in 28,000 about the event:
The skies screamed and the waves cried as the earth tilted and Setole fell from her place in the sea. Not a day passed before the island had been recalled by the depths; her last people barely escaping.
Refugees from the Setole migrated from their island home to popular trading areas in Soltenna, trying to establish a new land.
Early History
The Northern Journey
In an event known as "The Northern Journey" a large portion of the native Setolas began moving North along various rivers, reaching Lake Soltenna around c. 800 BCE. Those that stayed behind integrated into society and stayed in Southwest Miraria until the Letsatian Empire conquered the area. The Setolas' first interaction with Sitr people was peaceful and they were taught valuable farming techniques while there.
Unification
From c. 713 - 620 BCE Sitr peoples were assimilated into a fast growing Alotol society.
First Kingdom
In 438 BCE, General Tola was crowned king of Liosol.[3] He, along with his army, established outposts around Lake Soltenna and on the Setole River.

There are four municipalities, the biggest of which is Jotue, the capital.
Foreign relations
Military
Liosol currently has one of the biggest military budgets in Miraria. Although the government does not publish documents detailing the military, it is rumored the nation has upwards of two million active servicemen, and between 400,000 to 600,000 in reserves.
Liosol accepts Hux Kham citizens to join the military forces of Liosol; however, in practice, only females in Hux Kham join military forces of Liosol, as Hux Kham law bans males from serving in foreign military forces while there are no regulations for females.

Demographics
Ethnic groups
Alotol
The Alotol makes up the biggest portion of Liosol's ethnic groups. The name originates from the Liosolessa words for 'the people.' Roughly 63% of Liosol identifies with this group while in reality, only about 48% of the population is true-blood Alotol.
Sitr
The Sitr are people who inhabited the west-southern regions in prehistoric times. They built some city-states in ___ BCE. Rietic peoples entered (Southern) Liosol later on, and they co-existed with the ruling Sitr. Given Rietic influence, as they (to be exact, "ethnic Liosolis") became the ruling class in c. 600 BCE, change gradually happened and Sitr got (partially) assimilated in terms of culture into these (ethnic) Liosolis. Values of Sitr culture were (partially) carried over to the culture of (ethnic) Liosolis, such as (insert example here).
