Due to procession of the zodiac, the Mañi year currently starts around the same time as the beginning of the wet season, approximately a month after the vernal equinox. In order to keep the lunar cycle in sync with the (sidereal) solar year, 1 thirteenth intercalary month, Ŋųnįŋ (the foreigner), is inserted every third years after Łàakani Barge.
