Aifugon, officially the Federation of Aifugon, is a country located within the Tisnoij region, with Aifugon being located on the inside of the mountain range within the borders of Vaniua-proper. Aifugon is bordered by the fellow Tisnoijan countries of Temedzen and Tsuinnia to the north and northwest, and borders Imoztar to the east and Ulvam to the south. It is landlocked, covering an area of 206,421 square kilometres.
The Great Ekuosian War saw much of Miraria affected by the conflict. By the time the war ended, popular dialogue within Aifugon and other areas in Tisnoij was geared towards the creation of a larger state encompassing the entire geographical region. Thus, the Federal Republic of Tisnoij was born, and the Republic of Aifugon became an integral part of it. This lasted until the 1990s, when Tisnoij began to fall into chaos itself. On 5 June 1997, Aifugon, the last republic within the Esfason-based splinter of the Federal Republic of Tisnoij, voted to dissolve the Federal Republic, and the Unitary Republic of Aifugon came to fruition. It would not be long, however, before Temedzen and their own splinter of the Federal Republic, aimed to reclaim the entirety of Tisnoij for themselves. Initially a sub-conflict of the ensuing First Tisnoijan War, Aifugon eventually became embroiled in their own civil war. The Aifugonian Civil War lasted for over 15 years, until the signing of the Final Peace Accords, and thanks to its notable spillover into neighbouring countries, it has unofficially been termed the 'Second Tisnoijan War'. After the Final Peace Accords were signed, the Aifugonian state became the present-day Federation.
Aifugon is a federal parliamentary constitutional democracy, and one which has a directorial council acting as unitary head of state in place of a singular politician. Additionally, there is a singular Director of the Executive, who is always an external agent whose job it is to keep politics within the nation amicable and without hostility, and may fire elected representatives at will. Aifugonian internal policy has largely been to try and dissuade nationalism entirely rather than encouraging a unifying national identity or support all nationalities equally, like the Federal Republic of Tisnoij had attempted. This largely extends into foreign policy also, with a largely neutral foreign policy in general, giving Aifugon an incredibly peaceful foreign policy.
